filipino-4The CPC, in conjunction with the Missouri Baptist Convention and several local churches, extended an invitation to Ednor Sebag and his family to move to Southeast Missouri as a ethnic church planting catalyst.  Ednor and his family moved here full-time to work among Filipinos and other ethic groups in July.  This has been an incredible step of faith and cooperation for our area.  FBC, Sikeston is serving as the mother church and Ednor’s family is staying in the mission house of Miner Baptist Church.  The Missouri Baptist Convention is sending a monthly stipend and several area churches are contributing.  It’s amazing what is already happening since July.  Here’s just a portion of Ednor’s schedule:

  • 1st Sunday of the month he has a meeting/worship in Doniphan
  • 2nd Sunday of the month he has a meeting/worship in Cape Girardeau at the Lighthouse
  • 3rd Sunday of the month he has a meeting/worship in Poplar Bluff
  • 4th Sunday of the month he has a meeting/worship in Sikeston
  • 5th Sunday of the month is a regional outreach/worship event

Most of the above events also include outreach food events with as many as 70 Filipinos/Spouses coming.

He currently is leading a Bible study in Sikeston and also in Dexter.   He is discipling 2 couples in Poplar Bluff, 2 couples in Sikeston, 2 couples in Cape Girardeau, and 15 couples in Doniphan.   That’s 21 couples!  Each of those couples are being challenged to identify other couples whom they will disciple.  There have been at least two professions of faith.  It is so exciting to see what God is doing through this ministry.

Just last week, the Filipino ministry, the Lighthouse and area churches sponsored an International Food Festival at the Lighthouse. There were over 60 in attendance!  This is just the beginning of effort to reach Internationals on campus.international-festival

Would you like to join this Kingdom effort?  You can pray for this ministry using the above schedule.  Also, you can give financially through the Church Planting Center of SEMO to support this effort.  Our projected 2017 budget has a $500 monthly shortfall.  We need your support!

For the Kingdom!
